Each week, we will look at a top 10 fantasy forward list. The list will be based on fantasy impact over the past few days and weeks. Most elite stars are consistent scorers, but there are several players who are very streaky, so keep an eye on their stats so that you can dress them while they are on a hot streak.

No. 10: Shane Doan (Phoenix Coyotes)

Doan has gone pointless over the last six games after scoring 10 points in the first nine games. He is on pace for just 53 points this season, which would be his lowest total in eight seasons.

No. 9: Phil Kessel (Toronto Maple Leafs)

Kessel is still finding a way to get on the score sheet despite the Leafs being outscored 19-5 (not counting the shootout winner) over the last four games. His production has definitely slowed down, but he is still leading the league in scoring and is on pace for first 50-plus goal season.

No. 8: Derek Stepan (New York Rangers)

Stepan is making me look foolish. I dropped him after he started the season with a single assist in the first eight games.

Since dropping him, he has scored three goals and nine points in seven games. Stepan has shown great chemistry with Artem Anisimov and Marian Gaborik; the three have combined for 14 points over the last three games.

No. 7: Brad Marchand (Boston Bruins)

Marchand is on a five-game point scoring streak where he has three goals and eight points.  He is a feisty winger who can score and has been compared to Alexandre Burrows.

Marchand is on pace for a Burrows-type season with 30 goals, 60-plus points and 120-plus penalty minutes.

No. 6: Jamie Benn (Dallas Stars)

Benn is coming off back-to-back 22 goal seasons and saw a point increase in his sophomore year. This season, he is leading the Stars in scoring with 19 points.

Benn is on pace for another 20-plus goal season, but more impressive is that he is on pace for 96 points in his third NHL season.

No. 5: Derek Roy (Buffalo Sabres)

Roy is putting a slow start behind him after scoring two goals and three points against the Winnipeg Jets, and followed that up with a goal and three points against the Ottawa Senators.

He has eight points over the last five games and seems to have his season back on track.

No. 4: Jonathan Toews (Chicago Blackhawks)

Toews was named the third star of the week by NHL.com after scoring four goals and six points in the last three games. He finished the week with a plus-six rating, 11 shots and scored the game winner against the Edmonton Oilers. Toews is on pace for career high 41 goals and for his usual 68-75 points.

No. 3: Johan Franzen (Detroit Red Wings)

Franzen is finding the back of the net over the last seven days, scoring a hat trick against the Colorado Avalanche, and has five goals over the last four games.

He is on his second four-game point streak of the season, this time with 10 points, and is on pace for career high 49 goals.

No. 2: Ryan Smyth (Edmonton Oilers)

Smyth is back playing hockey where he belongs, in Edmonton. He is making the most of his return and is on pace for career highs in goals (48) and points (81).

With all the youth in Edmonton, it is the 35-year-old who is leading the Oilers in scoring.  Smyth has only gone pointless in five games this season. Over the last eight games, he has scored eight goals and 12 points.

No. 1: Tyler Seguin (Boston Bruins)

Seguin is on this list for the second straight week and deserves this top spot. He is on fire, scoring points in six straight games and has 11 points over that time frame, and is also on a four game goal streak with seven goals.

In 15 games, Seguin has only gone pointless in three games. All of those poolies who didn’t win the Taylor Hall sweepstakes are reaping some big time points, as Seguin is on pace for 109 points.
