Philadelphia Eagles: Vince Young Gives the Birds a Better Shot Than Mike Kafka
With Michael Vick facing the aftermath of a concussion that sidelined him for the fourth quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles' Week 2 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, there have been questions about whether or not the team will let him start.
Vick is a great quarterback, but the Eagles knew about his injury issues when they trained Mike Kafka as the backup and brought in veteran Vince Young.
While Kafka looked good in the fourth quarter of the Falcons game, Philadelphia head coach Andy Reid feels he hurt Kafkaโs chances of winning the game.

""I had a young quarterback in [Kafka] that I was way, way too conservative with. For those first couple of series that [Kafka] was in, I did something that I normally don't do, in particular because I do have trust in [Kafka] and how good he is, and sitting on the ball I think sends a message to everybody, and it's not a positive message.
"
The reason could also be that he really doesnโt have the confidence needed in his backup quarterbackโand in that case, he has to go with the veteran.
As troubled as Vince Young has been throughout his career, the fact is that the limelight will be back on the former Pro Bowl quarterback. With a new system and the kind of weapons he dreamed of in Tennessee, Young could be one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the league.
Either way, the Philadelphia Eagles will do whatever it takes to get Vick on the field.
But if he canโt, the team has to go with Young as the starter.
