John Jairo Ruiz Receives Formal Offer from FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona has made a formal offer to sign John Jairo Ruiz of Costa Rica. The offer was confirmed by Ruiz's representative (Ricardo Cabañas) and club (Deportivo Saprissa).
The news was also reported by Univision in its online page dedicated to football/soccer. Cabañas and Juan Carlos Rojas (President of Deportivo Saprissa) have not commented on the amount of money offered by Barca.
Cabañas declared that the final decision (concerning the fate of Ruiz) remains in the hand of Roas and Deportivo Saprissa. Rojas has acknowledged that Palermo of Italy and Rubin Kazan of Russia have expressed interest in Ruiz.
Rojas went on to say that he will study the offers from other clubs for Ruiz. Rojas finished his declarations by saying the Ruiz will remain with Saprissa until January 2012.
Rojas used a postscript saying that Ruiz is happy with Saprissa for the time being. Ruiz is an attacker for the Costa Rican Under 20 league.
Ruiz represented Costa Rica in the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Colombia this year. Ruiz is expected to start in the Costa Rican First Division in the match between Deportivo Saprissa and Orion.
It remains to be seen what will transpire in the current situation between Ruiz, Deportivo Saprissa, and FC Barcelona.
