Sean Avery: 7 Possible Careers for the Rangers Forward After Hockey
Sean Avery may have worn his welcome in the NHL.
The Rangers forward's antics both on and off the ice have frankly been a disgrace to the game.
With that being said, it may be time for Avery to start looking at a new career.
If Sean does decide to pursue new money making avenues, here are seven which he should really look in to.
As always, I would to love hear what kind of careers you guys think Avery should pursue. Just keep it clean, and most importantly, funny.
Reporter
1 of 7This may seem like an unusual choice but Avery actually has experience in the field.
During an offseason, Avery got himself an internship with Men's Vogue magazine and was even the guest editor for one issue.
The next year, Avery worked for FUSE TV where he was a reporter for the Bonnaroo Music and Arts festival.
Avery may have a solid career within the print media industry.
Justin Timberlake Impersonator
2 of 7Sean Avery does have an eerie resemblance to music artist Justin Timberlake.
If ever his hockey career went down the tube, Avery could make a living going to birthday parties and other social events pretending to be Mr. Timberlake.
Celebrity Endorser for Manwich
3 of 7Avery would be the perfect celebrity endorser for Manwich, a company that makes sloppy joe sauce.
Just think how funny it would be to see Sean holding a sloppy joe with the catch phrase: "Manwich, where your seconds are always sloppy!"
Or, "Manwich, make enough for sloppy seconds."
The jokes would be endless.
Just look at the commercial. Wouldn't it just be hilarious to see Avery in a commercial like that?
Stand-Up Comedy
4 of 7Avery's mouth would land him a decent job as a stand-up comedian.
He has a good crop of jokes about hockey that could attract a crowd. There are a number of people who were not comedians but have gone into comedy because of their famous words. Think Charlie Sheen.
Lawyer
5 of 7Being a lawyer does require a wide knowledge of the legal system.
But it also requires the ability to argue your point.
Avery has certainly made a name for himself doing the latter.
Becoming a lawyer would require a lot of work, however I think Avery's way with words would make him a good lawyer.
MMA Fighter
6 of 7Avery is a strong man. All NHL hockey players are.
Avery is pretty tough as well, often fighting or getting into scrums around the net.
This would make Avery a prime candidate for the next cage battle. Of course becoming a pro fighter would require a lot of learning, but it has been done before.
Montreal Canadiens enforcer Georges Laraque has attempted a MMA career and even fought Georges St. Pierre in exhibition.
Who knows, maybe MMA will be a perfect fit for Avery.
Actor
7 of 7Avery would be a great actor. One could even argue he has been acting his whole NHL career.
Avery even has experience on the big screen, he had a cameo appearance in the Disney movie, The Rocket, a biography about Maurice "Rocket" Richard.
Maybe we will Avery on the big screen again sometime soon.
