According to Bob McKenzie of TSN, Ian White is likely to be dealt by the Carolina Hurricanes after he didn't take part in practice today.

Canes coach Paul Maurice said, "If anything happens with White, it will be within the next 24 hours."

While no team has been rumored to take him, someone definitely should because he is a serviceable defenseman and a contender should scoop him up.

If the Hurricanes do trade him, they should try to get an experienced defenseman in return because their defensive core is pretty young.

White has already been traded twice in his career and if he is traded again, he will play for his third team in one season.

In 378 career games, he has 34 goals and 99 assists for 133 points.

Last year, White was traded to the Calgary Flames as part of the deal that sent Dion Phaneuf to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Earlier this season, he was sent to the Hurricanes with Brett Sutter in return for Anton Babchuck and Tom Kostopoulos.

While he was with the Maple Leafs, he was one of my favorite players on the team because he was one of the hardest-working players on the Leafs and was the one player I was sad to see go in the trade.

Whether or not White is traded once again, I hope he can finally find a permanent home because he definitely deserves it.
