UFC 119 Results: Sean Sherk Wins, But Not Without Controversy

The second fight on the pay-per-view portion of UFC 119 was a lightweight scrap between hungry up and comer Evan Dunham (11-0) against former UFC lightweight champion "The Muscle Shark" Sean Sherk (32-4-1).

Dunham began utilizing his reach early in the opening round, but then Sean Sherk goes for a patented slam.

Then Dunham manages to go for a guillotine but Sherk just managed to survive and put pressure on Dunham.

Sherk can't seem to hold Dunham down as Dunham scrambles but Sherk manages to execute another takedown.

Dunham is able to scramble to his feet and Sherk goes for a takedown but Dunham is able to get a guillotine again and almost gets it, the two men continue to jock for position but Sherk is able to land a sharp elbow that slices Dunham over the left eye to close out the round.

Round two starts off with Sherk going for a takedown but Dunham is able to get another guillotine.

However, Sherk is able to power out of this guillotine a lot easier and gets on top yet again but he can't seem to hold Dunham down.

Sherk manages to get a few punches on the inside, but Dunham is able to get the better of the striking late in the round and utilized his sound kickboxing skills.

Round three begins and Dunham manages to rock Sherk with a head kick just seconds into the round.

Sherk then pressures Dunham against the fence and lands a takedown, but can't hold Dunham down again.

Then Sherk proceeds to fight for another takedown but Dunham breaks away and is able to get the better of the striking.

Dunham lands a huge knee that rocks Sherk and then connects over and over again with powerful punches.

Both Dunham and Sherk exchange at the end of the round to the Indianapolis crowds approval, however it appeared as if Dunham got the better of the exchanges.

Sean Sherk defeats Evan Dunham via Split Decision (29-28,28-29, 29-28)

The Indianapolis fans showed their disapproval for the former champion Sean Sherk's victory.
