Anaheim Ducks Trade Community Leader Ken Armer To Dallas Stars
For many of my devoted readers, the fact I grew up a Dallas Stars fan was overshadowed by the fact I headed up the Anaheim Ducks section, and was generally first to break news regarding the team. With the upcoming season around the corner, I faced a decision and have finally reached a choice.
For the upcoming 2008-2009 NHL season, I will not be heading up the Ducks section. I will instead vacate it in hopes of finding a southern California fan who is as dedicated to the Ducks as I was.
With a pending move in December to Dallas, I have notified Zander, as well as current Stars Community Leader Ian Robinett, I would like to join the section as a CL. Both have agreed to it pending a full decision. The decision was reached yesterday after a weekend of working my regular job, and deliberating my choice.

Along with the move to Dallas in December, I will go back to work at a local hockey rink where I worked during the end of high school. Rather then return to duties as a Zamboni driver and operations guy, I will be working for the Dallas Hawks Jr. hockey team as a journalist and working on the website keeping the fans updated. Along with the added duties comes some added pay, which is always nice.
The new job and move are not the complete reasons I am changing duties on Bleacher Report. Along with the new address I will have even better access to Stars information and news, along with easier access to games.
It always bothered me the best I could do was watch a Ducks game on TV, or more often listen on the radio. It wasnāt fair to me or the readers. In Dallas, I may in the future be able to attend practices in Plano, and with Press Credentials via Bleacher Report, I may be able to become a regular face in Stars journalistic coverage. This is all something I can not match in covering the Ducks.
I spent the last couple months of the season through the playoffs and off season covering the Ducks. It was a blast. I truly hope my devoted Ducks readers will not hate me for this; the Ducks are still a team I will cheer for.
Iām sure from time to time I will cover them, especially when the Stars and Ducks play. Still, I feel for many reasons it is better I write about the Stars, and go back to the team I cheered for as a child.
