It was a battle to the finish, with both teams attempting to score the winning goal. Necaxa and Santos Laguna were consistent and disciplined and played to win. Both teams would pass the ball amongst each other, and the offense as well as defense were strong.

Obed Isia Rincon received a yellow card for misconduct, but it appeared to be a minor infraction. What happened is that in an intense game, anything goes, and both teams did not want to concede to the other.

It was at the last minute of the game and Christian Benitez scored the second goal which clinched the game for Santos. Miguel Becerra prepared the ball, Rodrigo Ruiz did the corner kick which, landed on the right foot of Benitez, who then kicked it to the left side of the goal post.

The cheerleaders and the public supporting Santos Laguna were content with the results until the next time.
