Lukas Krajicek is indeed in talks with several teams; I can confirm the Anaheim Ducks are among them.

Will DePaoli of Inside Pittsburgh Sports is reporting that there are five teams in on Willie Mitchell. He stated the five teams are the Kings, Sharks, Lightning, Capitals, and Canucks.

Will DePaoli is also reporting that the New York Islanders have extended a training camp invite to Ruslan Fedotenko. UPDATE: I exchanged texts with his agent Allan Walsh, and he said that the Islanders have NOT invited Ruslan Fedotenko to training camp on a tryout bases.

Katie Strang of Newsday is reporting that the Islanders are not interested in Antti Niemi.

On a side note the Panthers, Sharks, and Capitals have all expressed interest in Niemi.

Today is the 17th so watch out for Ilya Kovalchuk to sign (joke). If and when Kovalchuk signs in New Jersey, be on the lookout for one or two of Bryce Salvador, Brian Rolston, Dainius Zubrus, and possibly Jamie Langenbrunner to be moved.

The Maple Leafs are open to talking extension with Tomas Kaberle. It is worth noting that if Kaberle is ever asked to waive his NTC, and it is to a team in the east, he MAY waive it.

It is believed that Brian Burke will move at least one of his defenseman for a forward at some point before the regular season begins.

Kevin Bieksa continues to generate a lot of interest, as of right now it looks like the Sharks are leading the way.

This concludes today's edition of NHL Buzz, enjoy.
