Willie Mitchell is generating a ton of interest.
Tthe four biggest suitors are Detroit, San Jose, Washington, and Vancouver.
If he were to sign it would likely be a one or two year deal, worth approximately two million dollars per season. I personally think he would be a great fit on all four of those teams, especially at that price.
Nothing new on the Tomas Kaberle front.
Burke has a few offers (two or three) but hasn't got what he is looking for yet. He will continue his search until he gets exactly what he wants. Personally, I think Tomas Kaberle will be traded, but we will have to wait and see.
Teemu Selanne has decided he will play at least one more season. He is now waiting on Kariya as he said he would love to him back in Anaheim.
I think this is the right decision for Selanne as his family lives with him in California and he can still play. 27 goals in 54 games at that age is special.
The Ducks are still searching for another defenseman: Marc-Andre Bergeron, Ruslan Salei, and Kevin Bieksa are the most likely candidates.
Antti Niemi is still generating a lot of interest, expect him to sign in the next few days.
The Ilya Kovalchuk hearing is over, and all signs point towards the arbitrator approving the contract. However, I can't confirm this.
Slava Kozlov is generating a lot of interest from the KHL but wants to stay in the NHL.
I am hearing the Maple Leafs are among the teams interested, but I can't confirm this. Personally, I think he would be a great fit in Toronto.
Jimmy Murphy of ESPNBoston said on his twitter yesterday that he was getting a lot of texts about Savard yesterday and suggested that trade talks could be heating up. Perhaps him along with a nice talent or high pick for Tomas Kaberle?
This concludes today's edition of NHL Buzz, enjoy.
