Calvin Pickard, Michael Bournival Headline Rounds 2-7 for Colorado Avalanche
On the second day of the 2010 NHL Entry draft, the Avalanche wrapped things up by selecting seven times in rounds two through seven.
Throughout the day, the Avalanche made three trades. Moving down two spots, they traded the 47th overall pick to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for the 49th and 109th overall picks; later, they moved up, trading the 77th and recently-acquired 109th overall picks to Dallas in exchange for the 71st overall pick. They also traded a third round pick in the 2011 NHL entry draft to the New York Islanders in exchange for the 95th overall pick.

Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
Three forwards, two defensemen, and two goaltenders rounded out the draft for Colorado.
49th Overall: Calvin Pickard, Goaltender, WHL
The consensus second-best goaltender in the draft, the Avalanche drastically improved their porous goaltending prospect pool by drafting Calvin Pickard of the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds. Despite playing for a bad team and only winning 16 games, Pickard had a solid year with a 3.09 GAA and .914 SV percentage, while collecting three shutouts.
71st Overall: Michael Bournival, Left Wing, QMJHL
Bournival, known for being a hard worker and strong defensive forward, has played the past three seasons with the Shaginaw Cataractes of the QMJHL. Despite being mostly known for his defensive play, Bournival had a good season offensively, scoring 24 goals and 62 points in 58 games.
95th Overall: Stephen Silas, Defense, OHL
Playing the past two seasons with the Belleville Bulls of the OHL, Silas is known mostly for his strong defensive play, but also had a good year offensively with 49 points in 66 games.
107th Overall: Sami Aittokallio, Goaltender, Finland
Sticking with tradition, the Avalanche took a long shot goaltender in the late rounds of the draft. The 6'1" goaltender from Finland is the only player outside of North America taken by the Avalanche.
137th Overall: Troy Rutkowski, Defense, WHL
The first of two Portland Winterhawks selected by the Avalanche, Rutkowski is known for his skating and offensive abilities. In his second season with the Winterhawks, Rutkowski scored 12 goals and 43 points in 71 games.
139th Overall: Luke Walker, Right Wing, WHL
Two spots after picking Winterhawk defenseman Troy Rutkowski, the Avalanche selected right wing Luke Walker. Walker, who was draft eligible in the 2009 NHL Entry draft, scored 27 goals and collected 103 penalty minutes in his third season in Portland.
197th Overall: Luke Moffatt, Right Wing, USHL
With their final pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, the Avalanche took their second Luke in a row, Luke Moffatt. Moffatt is known only for his checking and defensive play, but not much else can be expected so late in a draft. In 28 games with the US National Under-17 Team, Moffatt scored five goals and 15 points.
