Touchdown Jesus Burned Down

Touchdown Jesus was a nickname for the famous statue "King of Kings" that was outside Solid Rock Church.
The sculpture was designed by Brad Coriel, sculpted by James Lynch, and assembled by Mark Mitten.
The team sculpted a Styrofoam base on a metal base, and covered in fiberglass. In all, the sculpture cost $250,000. Funds were raised by private donations.
Yesterday at 11:15 pm, lighting struck the sculpture and burst into flames. Only the metal frame was damaged. The damage was said to be worth $700,000, over three times what the statue cost.
The pastor of the church plans to rebuild the statue.
Here is video of the burning, and a picture of the aftermath.
