This is my first post here at the Bleacher Report. Before I begin I just want to throw out a little background info to you all. I'm a die-hard Oilers fan living in Boston, Mass, and have been blooging hockey for almost a year at various different websites. I hope you enjoy reading my Oilers blogs throughout the summer and into the season.According to ESPN.com rumor central talks between the Edmonton Oilers and the Boston Bruins might have already begun, in regards to the 1st overall pick in this June's NHL entry draft. This rumor was backed up this morning on a local Boston radio station, 98.5 the Sports Hub, who has all broadcasting rights to the Bruins. The rumor is that Edmonton wants the Bruins 15th overall draft pick in the NHL entry draft.  Top goaile prospect Jack Campbell could be the Oilers target at the spot, or Red Dear Rebels defender Alex Petrovic. The Oilers are also keen on bringing back a forward from the Bruins to help fill needs. My guess, and the guess of many at this point, is pending RFA forward Blake Wheeler will be coming back to Edmonton. Wheeler was drafted 5th overall by the Yotes a number of years ago, but never played a game for them. Instead he signed a 2 year deal with the Bruins when he became a UFA 2 years ago. Wheeler put up good numbers in his rookie season with the Bruins, and started off this season playing good hockey. In the last half of the year, and the playoffs, Wheeler looked lost and as a result Blake struggled. Wheeler is a big body however, listed at  6' 5" 205 lbs. In his rookie season Wheeler scored 21 goals, adding 24 assists for a very good 45 points in his rookie year. Blake only was able to score 18 goals this season, however he never really was put on a set line and never was able to gel with his linemates this past season. Blake Wheeler could be a good addition to the Oilers lineup if he is part of the draft day deal that many see as pending. One player that the Bruins are hellbent on getting is Sheldon Souray. The Bruins offered the Oilers a trade at least twice this past seaosn involving Souray heading the other way, and on deadline day this past March the two sides agreed on a deal. Why did it not go through? Souray failed his physical as the doctor found and infection in his hand. The Bruins still have interest in getting Souray, and now that Souray has asked to be traded it sure seems like a great fit for a trade. At this point it looks like the outline of this trade is: 1st overall pick, Souray going to the Bruins and 2nd overall pick, Wheeler, 15th overall pick going to Edmonton. Now keep in mind there could be more players added in on both sides, or players taken out. One thing we are sure about is that this is going to be a fun story to look for around the draft.
