Game 33: Portland Blazers vs. Philadelphia 76ers, 7:00pm

Point Guards

Allen Iverson has missed the 76ers last four games but is expected to return tonight. It doesn't really matter if Iverson is there or not, he's not going to make a difference in the Sixers getting a win.

Andre Miller will have something to prove against his old team, and Steve Blake has his touch back from long range. I think our point guards dominate here.

Advantage: Blazers

Shooting Guards

Brandon Roy will have the tough task of trying to score on the Sixers long and athletic Andre Iguodala. AI-2 presents a ton of problems for Roy defensively, but he also is a pretty dominating force when he has the ball. If we let Iguodala get to the hoop, we're in trouble, and he'll be looking at a productive night. But, I think Roy is ready to put on another show in the RG. Roy wins.

Advantage: Blazers

Small Forwards

Thaddeus Young has been solid and productive for the Sixers this season, despite some inconsistent games. He'll give Martell Webster problems, and if Jason Kopono gets any playing time, he's still a big threat from deep.

I don't see Webster being overly productive, so I'm giving this one to Philly, but that doesn't mean Webster isn't due for a solid game. I guess we'll see what happens.

Advantage: 76ers

Power Forwards

LaMarcus Aldridge has stepped his game up in the month of December. He's averaging 18.4 ppg and 8.6 rpg.  He still shoots way too many jumpers, but that may work out fine in this contest.

On the other hand, Elton Brand has been a big disappointment for Philly. He was supposed to be their monster signing who would change the franchise, but injuries and severe inconsistencies have limited him this season. I like L.A. in this one.

Advantage: Blazers

Centers

Tough to pick against Juwan Howard and Jeff Pendergraph in a so-so matchup. Samual Dalembert blocks a lot of shots, and occasionally rebounds. Other than that, he can completely fade out of a game. Howard has been a blessing and Pendo a mad dog. I like our slightly smaller tandem again here.

Advantage: Blazers

Overall Winner: Blazers
