Lopez appeared set for victory as he won the first set and nearly took control in the second, but the French ace saved four break points to stay in the contest and thwart his opponent's intentions.

Pouille edged a tiebreaker to level the contest, and he put his foot on the accelerator in the third.

Pouille was successful as he chased his first break point of the match, and with his serving imperious and strong, he claimed victory.

The winner served 29 aces in the final.
