Tom Brady Super Bowl 51 Jersey Theft Timeline Revealed on Video
In a video released Tuesday, the timeline of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's Super Bowl LI jersey theft was revealed.
As seen in the following video courtesy of Fox Sports 1's The Herd with Colin Cowherd and explained by Jay Glazer, the alleged thief's movements were tracked following the removal of Brady's jersey:
According to TMZ Sports, former Diario La Prensa executive Martin Mauricio Ortega is the person alleged to have stolen the jersey.
The jersey was found Monday in Mexico along with a missing Brady jersey from Super Bowl XLIX, per ESPN.com's Darren Rovell and Mike Reiss:
Rovell tweeted a photo of the recovered jersey afterward:
In the video released Tuesday, Ortega was shown entering the Patriots' locker room before credentialed media members were allowed to.
There was nothing under his arm upon entry, but after leaving the locker room, he was carrying something under his arm, which is alleged to be Brady's jersey.
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said work was underway to authenticate the jerseys, and Houston police classified the theft as a first-degree felony, according to Rovell and Reiss.
