Coyotes' Shane Doan Closing in on 400 Career Goals
Arizona Coyotes winger Shane Doan will enter Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Kings just two goals shy of 400 for his career, per NHL.com Milestones.
Doan has played in 1,487 career games to reach his current total, third among active skaters. The 2016-17 season hasn't been particularly kind to the 40-year-old.
The veteran owns just six points—two goals and four assists—through 21 games this season, with Doan's age and declining skill set likely both factoring into the output. His average ice time has also dropped to a career-low 15:44 per game dating back to when ESPN.com first tracked the stat in 1999-2000.

The Coyotes have begun a youth movement with guys like Max Domi, Dylan Strome and Christian Dvorak. However, they've still held on to a number of veteran guys like Doan—who's played his entire career for Arizona.
It's unlikely Doan will reach 400 career goals in Thursday's contest. He's scored just two goals the entire season, but he did notch his second of the year three games ago against the Edmonton Oilers.
Doan should achieve the total at some point this season, almost assuredly becoming the 93rd player to do so, per Hockey-Reference.com.
While he might not have the name recognition of others on the list, the Coyotes' captain has posted a highly respectable and impressive career.
