Tom Brady Plans Saturday Practice Session with Former Pats Receiver Wes Welker
In his pursuit of success in the future, Tom Brady is seeking help from the past.
Ever the consummate competitor, the New England Patriots quarterback found a way to circumvent the four-game suspension that prohibits him from working with current teammates—namely by practicing with a former teammate.
Enter Wes Welker.
The longtime Pats receiver reached out to the decorated signal-caller for a Saturday night reunion.
But while his favorite target of old suggested a restaurant rendezvous, Brady had football on his mind.
"It was funny," Welker told 560 in Miami during a Friday appearance. "I'm sitting there trying to have dinner, and 'Hey, get your ass up here and let's go throw!' I'm like ', man, he's going to be running like two-minute drills in his backyard or something.'"
Perhaps Brady can persuade Willie to provide the pass rush.
