Darren Kramer, NHL Prospect, Arrested at Disney World: Latest Details, Comments

Scott PolacekJun 23, 2016

Manitoba Moose left wing Darren Kramer was reportedly arrested at Disney World early Tuesday morning.

According to Jill Coubrough of CBC News, Kramer "was tasered, arrested and charged for allegedly fighting a Florida police officer at Disney World. ... Kramer, 22, got into a fight with the officer while his friend made off with stolen bowling pins Tuesday at 1:16 a.m., the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.”

Coubrough noted Kramer's friend is the one who initially found himself in trouble. He apparently told security he won the bowling pins and flag he was seen holding, but the officer attempted to arrest him before Kramer yelled for his friend to run.

Citing police, Coubrough reported Kramer fought the officer when he was approached after telling his friend to run.

The left wing was "charged with grand theft, battery of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest," per Coubrough.

Kramer appeared in 61 games during the 2015-16 campaign and tallied 12 points on seven goals and five assists. He was more of an enforcer than an offensive threat and led the Moose with 138 penalty minutes, per the team's official website.
