Jeremy Lamb Injury: Updates on Hornets Guard's Ankle and Return

Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lamb suffered a sprained right ankle in the first quarter of a preseason game against the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 19. It is unclear when he will be able to return to the floor.

How Lamb's Injury Impacts Hornets

Nicolas Batum was Charlotte's most notable offseason acquisition and can do a little bit of everything on the wing. That takes pressure off the 23-year-old Lamb and won't put him in too big of a role. The Hornets can also turn to a younger option in 22-year-old P.J. Hairston at the 2-guard spot for the time being.

Lamb was the 12th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft and hasn't really lived up to that billing. The hope is he can be healthy shortly after the beginning of the 2015-16 regular season and begin realizing his potential for a team already without Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for an extended period because of a shoulder surgery.
