Brittney Griner Gets Put on the Spot on ESPN, Misses 2 Consecutive Dunks

Jake SilverJul 25, 2015

Three-time WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner's 6'8" stature has helped her grow into a dominant post presence on the hardwood. Throughout her career, nothing has gotten spectators going quite like her dunks.

On Saturday, Griner attempted a two-handed dunk for the camera during a SportsCenter segment. It did not go down. After collecting herself, the Phoenix Mercury star took flight again, this time with one hand outstretched. She came up short on that one, too.

Eventually, the ball went in, and she triumphantly shrugged for the camera.

In Griner's defense, it's never easy to execute when millions of eyes are directly on you. The 2014 WNBA champion has shown throughout her career that she can dunk with relative ease, and in this case, it was just unfortunate to have the cameras rolling live.
