The Bears were back at it in Bourbonnais on Monday as they practiced in helmets and shoulder pads. The warm and windy day in Kankakee County went as follows:

Returning from injury today were Patrick Mannelly and Greg Olsen, while Danieal Manning and linebacker Nick Roach sat out.

Zack Bowman returned in part as he was seen doing some conditioning drills alongside Charles Tillman. The latest rumor has Peanut being ready to play by the third preseason game in Denver on the 30th.

The wide receivers were interchanged this afternoon. Earl Bennett was responsible for making the crowd roar when he made a diving/sliding catch in the area of Nathan Vasher. As a result of the slide, Bennett's shorts slid down a little bit, much to the pleasure of some female fans in attendance.

Rashied Davis saw reps with the first team on Monday as well.

Outside of the Bennett catch, how did Vasher look? He still had first team reps, but Corey Graham substituted in for him and worked with the first team early in practice. Graham then switched to the opposite side as he took Trumaine McBride's spot on the field.

In all honesty, Peanut can't get healthy soon enough because this whole situation in the defensive backfield is that bad.

Toward the end of practice, Alex Brown made an outstanding interception on Jay Cutler. Brown was in the air and made a leaping grab on a ball that was thrown from a yard and a half away at the farthest. It was a heck of a play by Brown. He is someone the defensive front will need to be at his best this season.

No word if Cutler is worried about his starting spot just yet...

3:00 pm start time for practice tomorrow, if anything breaks before then I'll have it for you here.
