The Orlando Magic are coming off a successful season in which they made it all the way to the NBA Finals, before coming up just short against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Magic have retooled their team with some offseason moves that have made them one of the favorites to not only get back to the Finals and win the East but to win the a NBA title and avenge the feelings of defeat last year.Let's take a look at some of these moves.

sg.Vince Carter-Despite the arguments of some, the Magic upgraded their team when they traded for Carter and lost Torkoglu in free agency. In Carter they add a star player who has been a 1st option player throughout his career to a team where he will be counted on as a 3rd option player behind all stars Howard,Nelson, and Lewis.Carter still posesses the ability the get you 20+ppg,5+rpg,5+apg a game,as he averaged all these numbers in the 2008-2009 season.Still has the ability as a solid defender and overall playmaker,he should fit right in with this talented team.

pf.Brandon Bass-An unknown player in the NBA to most who haven't seen him play.He adds a element of high energy, toughness and hustle to the starting lineup as the starting power forward he will be a strong rebounder, get alot of putbacks, and will be open for alot of 15ft jumpers which he can hit at a good percentage.Last season 08-09 he averaged 9ppg,5,rpg,1bpg in 19 minutes a game off the bench for the Mavs. His minutes will double as a starter for the Magic so expect these numbers to double.

sf.Matt Barnes-A slasher/high energy player who has a solid offensive and defensive game to go along with it.Last season he averaged 10ppg,6rpg,3apg in 70 games played 40 of them as a starter. He adds scoring and defensive punch to an already solid bench.

pf.Ryan Anderson-Is a 6"10,240lbs forward with a solid shot and range from 3 point land,he averaged 8ppg,5rpg.He will come off the bench and play the role of a shooter and stretch the defense while causing mismatches with big man who can't come out to the three point line and d up.

Also they return their 3 all stars in Howard,Lewis, and a healthy 100% Nelson who was injured half the season and the playoffs last year before returning in the finals gaining valuable experience. They resigned backup center Marcin Gortat and are still looking to add ah backup pg,and have $8million in cap space to make a move or possible trade during the season.Other bench players are as follows.

Mikeal Pietrus 6th man/JJ.Redick/Anthony Johnson/Adonal Foyle

So with a starting lineup of:

pg.Nelson/sg.Carter/sf.Lewis/pf.Bass/c.Howard

There will be no double teaming of Howard,he has unlimited options on the wings and a tough, aggresive, and talented true power forward playing alongside him for the 1st time in his career ,look for a MVP type season from Howard, and maybe a championship season from the Magic.
