Phillies Vs. BoSox '09 World Series

Aloha all, now that we have the first half of baseball done and over with, what can we expect from the Fightin Phillies?  I have been wrong many times before, (except last year when I told everyone Philly would win the World Series) but I feel very strong about my prediction.

Even with Philadelphia's pitching struggles they are still in first place, four games ahead of Florida.  Everyone's bat avg. goes up and so do the Phillies wins.  Florida will falter as well as the Mets

The Phillies starters are getting better and I feel will be ok for the rest of the season, minus my boy Jamie Moyer.  Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for him and love the guy, but it's time, sir, to leave and give up your spot for the young guns coming up in the farm system.

The Phillies are adding Pedro Martinez to the club house.  I don't know what to expect.  He could go either way.  He could pitch like he has in DR and throw his 94mph fastball accompanied by the rest of his junk and have a fantastic rest of the season or pitch like a player that has gotten hurt and has been in the league since '92.

Also, given that Roy Halladay is prime real estate for wearing a Phillies cap,  I predict the following... Phillies and Red Sox in the World Series.  Think of the pitching power in the Phillies organization if Halladay comes to Philly and Pedro pitches like the Pedro of old:

1. Halladay 2. Hamels 3.Blanton 4.Happ/Bastardo/Moyer or other young gun  and 5.Pedro.  That would be sick.  Moving Hamels to the two spot would take the pressure off, so he can relax and pitch his game.  Our offense will do what they do and take two out of three games and the occasional sweep and clinch the division.

There it is girls and boys, Phillies and Sox in the end.  Gm1. Halladay/Lester  Gm2.  Hamels/Beckett  Gm3.  Blanton/Matsuzaka  Gm4.  Moyer/Wakefield  Gm5.  Pedro/Smoltz

Drop me a line and let me know what you all think.
