Wes Welker Handed Out $100 Bills to Random Fans at the Kentucky Derby

Dan CarsonMay 5, 2014

How is Wes Welker going to repay his fans? Straight cash, homie.

According to Nina Mandell of For The Win, the Denver Broncos wide receiver began handing out $100 bills at Churchill Downs on Saturday.

Welker, holding a floppy stack of cash, walked up to a group of Kentucky Derby goers and began slipping them money as if he were dealing out cards.

Mandell reports that Welker told his new friends he had "just won the Kentucky Derby." The wideout continued handing out money until his police escort encouraged him to move toward the exits.

Clearly, Welker was feeling no pain as he left Churchill Downs. He probably knocked back a couple $1,000 mint juleps and bet the house on California Chrome to win (as he did).

Count this as just another day in the life and times of Welker, a veteran with a two-year, $12 million contract and money to burn.

The rich get richer, but at least Welker does it in style.

Poppin' bands for the fans.
