Lance Stephenson Has an Interesting New Celebration Dance

Dan FavaleFeatured ColumnistDecember 23, 2013

Lance Stephenson's hips don't lie.

Early in the fourth quarter of the Indiana Pacers' 106-79 beatdown of the Boston Celtics, Stephenson made Courtney Lee fall to the floor, and well, after he let the shot fly, he felt confident enough to do this:

There's something very "Surfin' U.S.A." meets squatting dog meets Xena: Warrior Princess about this new highlight dance of his.

Can't say I hate it, either. Had he swayed his hips a little more—and been wearing a bedazzled Pacers jersey—he would have made Shakira proud.

Thankfully, the shot went in, because Stephenson started flaunting his latest "I'm better than you" stance before the ball ripped through the bottom of the net.

Think of how foolish he would have looked, genuflecting there on the court, intense look of bravado washing over his face, if it had caromed off the rim.

Never change, Lance. For the love of obscure, on-court dance moves, never change.
