WWE 2K14's '30 Years of WrestleMania' Match Reveals, Pt. 3: Attitude Era

0 of 4

On Monday and Tuesday we shared the first 17 matches included in WWE 2K14's 30 Years of WrestleMania mode. Now it's time to show a little bit of attitude.

After Hulk Hogan dominated the early years of WrestleMania and a "New Generation" of Superstars stormed the scene, the WWE had a new feel largely driven by the presence of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

The man known as the Texas Rattlesnake embody the edgy, in-your-face style that helped the WWE win the Monday Night Wars over rival promotion World Championship Wrestling (WCW). From WrestleMania 14 to 17, the Attitude Era was on full display.

In today's reveal, the best matches from those four WrestleManias take center stage. Take a look at the latest bouts revealed as part of the 30 Years of WrestleMania single-player campaign.

WrestleMania 14: Undertaker vs. Kane

1 of 4

    March 29, 1998

    Fleet Center in Boston, Mass.

    Why it's Included:

Two of the WWE's greatest legends and wrestling's fiercest giants squared off in this match.

After Kane's destructive and monumental arrival on the WWE scene, he and his brother the Undertaker competed in one of the most exciting and bitter feuds wrestling has ever seen.

Sparked by their father Paul Bearer, the Brothers of Destruction's sibling rivalry was never more brutal than it was at WrestleMania 14.

WrestleMania 15: The Rock vs. Steve Austin

2 of 4

    March 28, 1999

First Union Center in Philadelphia, Pa.

    Why it's Included:

Perhaps the two most charismatic Superstars in the WWE in the late 1990s and early 2000s clashed for The Rock's WWE title. The Great One and the Rattlesnake's rivalry truly hit another level with this bitter matchup.

The two men would have a long history at WrestleMania, but this No Disqualification match was their first meeting at the Showcase of the Immortals.

Stone Cold would come out victorious in this meeting, winning the title for the third time in his career.

WrestleMania 16: Triple H vs. The Rock vs. Big Show vs. Mick Foley

3 of 4

    April 2, 2000

    Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, Calif.

    Why it's Included:

An epic Fatal 4-Way elimination match with four current and future Hall of Famers at WrestleMania simply has to be included in this mode. Beyond the fact that the match features great in-ring stars, it is also notable because it involved four members of the McMahon family.

Shane, Stephanie, Linda and Vince McMahon were each in the corner of one of the superstars. Ultimately, Triple H prevailed and retained his title. To this day, this is one of the most star-studded matches in WWE history.

WrestleMania 17: The Rock vs. Steve Austin

4 of 4

    April 1, 2001

    The Astrodome in Houston, Tex.

    Why it's Included:

This match ranks in my top 10 of all time.

The Rock and Stone Cold had several memorable battles, but as in-ring action goes, this one was their best. The match featured both men using the other's finishing maneuvers, Austin siding with former nemesis Vince McMahon and yet another defeat for The Rock at the hands of the Rattlesnake.

    Looking Ahead to Thursday

There are still two eras and 25 classic matches left to reveal in just two days. Be sure to check back on Thursday for the next stage of the reveal, and again on Friday for the conclusion.
