The 2013 Farmers Insurance Open really kicks the golf season into full gear. It brings a deep and talented field to the famed North and South courses at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Ca.

It also comes with a nice purse of $6.1 million and 500 FedEx Cup points.

Brandt Snedeker is the defending champion, and he will be there attempting to defend his title. With competition like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson all scheduled to play in the event, that will be no easy task.

Check out the vitals, and then we'll highlight some of more notable groups for the first two days.

Groups to Watch

Round 1 Tee Time: 9:20 a.m. ET on North Course hole No. 10

This group is a great mix of talent and age.

Dustin Johnson and Keegan Bradley can both dominate a tournament when they are hot. Also, Singh made a nice resurgence last year, and he looked good while tying for 20th at the Sony Open in his only event so far this year.

All of these guys can make spectacular shots, and they should put on a great show for the gallery.

Brandt Snedeker, Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson

Round 1 Tee Time: 9:30 a.m. ET on North Course hole No. 10

We've got the defending champion in Snedeker, the local boy in Mickelson and the always entertaining Watson in this group.

Snedeker is a steady player with a great putter. This will be a nice contrast to the go-for-broke styles of Mickelson and Watson.

Few players to ever pick up a club have displayed the kind of creative shot making of Mickelson or Watson, which is good because their style often finds them in need of such shots.

Nick Watney, Tiger Woods, Rickie Fowler

Round 1 Tee Time: 10:30 a.m. ET on South Course hole No. 1

It's Tiger Woods! Of course this is a group to watch. Despite Woods losing his spot as the unquestioned king of golf, the guy is still a huge draw, and whether he plays good or bad, it is always entertaining.

This group isn't all about him, though. Rickie Fowler is a dynamic ball striker, and capable of going as low as anyone. Nick Watney is also a talented and consistent golfer with five wins on the PGA under his belt.
