Tennis Star Martina Hingis Battled 5 Men in Bizarre Japanese-TV Showdown

Gabe ZaldivarPop Culture Lead WriterDecember 10, 2016

For some odd reason, Martina Hingis took on five Japanese tennis players and the outcome happens to be rather amazing.

With an overabundant use of overlays and some odd chyron choices, we have about 12 minutes of fun for you tennis fans.

Actually, you don't even have to like tennis to enjoy this zany moment from Japan.

Big Lead Sports spotted a video that was uploaded last September but began making the Twitter rounds this week. Once you see it, you will wonder why it took so long to become a viral hit.

As for information, we are a little thin on the stuff being that we don't speak Japanese. Luckily, the video is pretty easy to understand.

It's former No. 1 tennis player, Martina Hingis, and the 32-year old is tasked with playing against five athletes.

Before we ever get to see Hingis, we get an introduction for every single bloke who is about to play the former tennis player, even a guy who is rocking Jennifer Aniston's Friends hair style.

If you are looking for a downside to this video, and there aren't many, it's that this is a bit of a cliffhanger. You get to see Hingis put the score to 40-30, only to have the video end abruptly.

We can safely extrapolate that Hingis probably slammed the tennis ball off one of the other players, because she managed to take out two with her volleys before that.

Never, ever change, Japan.

Hit me up on Twitter like a Martina Hingis winner.
