Besides being an awesome franchise, the College Hoops 2K games gave us a virtual collegiate companion to NBA 2K. A feature that allowed you to take your graduation class or early entrants from your college seasons into your NBA 2K Associations linked the two games nicely.
When 2K stopped making the College Hoops series after College Hoops 2K8, that feature stopped as well, but the feature was replaced by allowing gamers to customize their own draft classes on NBA 2K.
It takes a lot of work, but the die-hards like myself take the time to create the classes and share them through the 2K Share function.
I've completed my latest draft class for NBA 2K13, and it has been uploaded to 2K Share for others to download and enjoy.
I used actual images of the players to make them look as much like themselves as possible. Some players have hairstyles or traits that aren't available as options in the create-a-player suite, but feel free to say "good job, good effort" on any of the likenesses.
I used YouTube and other video providers to get accessories and other details correct.
The heights, weights and even date of births are authentic, per NBADraft.net. I created the top 60 prospects, which were loosely based on the mock drafts from NBADraft.net, other sources and my own opinions on the top prospects likely to enter the 2013 NBA Draft.
Here's a video showcasing a little bit of the draft class:
I used stats from Statsheet, com where applicable, and I devised a formula to appropriately transform those stats into NBA 2K13 ratings. Keep in mind, these are designed to be rookies, so it is best to leave room for improvement—even for the top prospects like Cody Zeller and Shabazz Muhammad.
If you're interested in downloading this draft class, it is available on Xbox360 only (sorry PS3 users). You can search gamertag: Franchiseplay in the 2K Share menu.
