World Golf Championships 2012: Tee Times, Date and TV Schedule
The 2012 WGC-HSBC Champions is the fourth and final event of the World Golf Championships season. It’s been the fourth and final tournament since 2009, but has fielded various other tournaments since 2005.
Some of the best golfers from around the world, including PGA stars Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Keegan Bradley, Luke Donald, Jason Dufner, Adam Scott, Ernie Els and Ian Poulter, will descend upon Mission Hills Golf Course in Guangdong, China for the event.
Hunter Mahan (Accenture Match Play Championship), Justin Rose (Cadillac Championship) and Keegan Bradley (Bridgestone Invitational) were winners at the three previous WGC tournaments this season.
Keep in mind, there is a 12-hour time difference between Guangdong’s time zone and Eastern Standard Time. Evening tapings of the action will be re-aired on the golf channel the following morning.
Where: Mission Hills Golf Course in Guangdong, China
When: Thursday, Nov. 1 to Sunday, Nov. 4 (Begins Weds. night in U.S., ends Sat. night)
Golfers to Watch
Martin Kaymer, Germany
The German is one of nine major champions participating in the event. Notably, he’s the defending champion at Mission Hills after shooting a remarkable fourth-round 63 to inch out a three-stroke victory last season.
Kaymer is having a rough go of it in 2012 and hasn’t won a tournament since the last time he was in Guangdong. He hasn’t finished higher than 20th in any of the WGC stroke-play events this season.
Phil Mickelson, USA
Lefty is a two-time WGC tournament winner, although both of those wins came in 2009. He’s also won this specific tournament two times, once in 2009 when it was a part of the WGC and once in 2007 when it was not. Both of those wins were at Shenshan International in Shanghai. He did not participate in the event in 2011.
Ian Poulter, England
Poulter is finishing off an impressive 2012 season that includes nine Top 10 finishes in stroke-play events and an incredible showing at the Ryder Cup. His heroics helped seal a huge European comeback to topple the hosting USA team.

Prediction: Luke Donald Wins
Donald is a one-time WGC winner, having won the Accenture Match Play Championship in 2011. He’s had two Top 10 finishes in play this season.
His short-game has guided him to a lofty reputation as one of the world’s best around the greens. That was on display during last week’s BMW Masters in Shanghai. Donald shot just five bogeys and finished the tournament in third place.
