The best men's tennis has to offer will be gunning for a singles title this week in China, the site of the annual Shanghai Rolex Masters tournament at Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena.

Two-time defending champion Andy Murray enters the draw as the No. 3 seed, while 2010 runner-up Roger Federer comes in as the man to beat, seeded No. 1 overall in the singles draw.

Here is everything you need to know to make sure that you don't miss a minute of the action in Shanghai.

Three Straight for Andy Murray?

The reigning U.S. Open champion suffered his first defeat in nearly two months last week at the Rakuten Open in Tokyo, Japan, falling to Milos Raonic in the semifinals. Andy Murray will attempt to brush it off this week by winning his third consecutive Shanghai Masters championship.

Murray took down Roger Federer to win it in 2010, and bounced David Ferrer in straight sets last year to make it two in a row in China. Having defeated Federer at the 2012 London Olympics this past summer and recently claiming his first Grand Slam title ever, Murray will be a confident player and should be the favorite to win this coming weekend.

Will Roger Federer Maintain Focus?

The tennis world was stunned last week when news broke that Roger Federer had received an anonymous death threat. According to USA Today's Chris Chase, the threat was made online and announced that someone had planned to assassinate the world No. 1 on October 6.

As mentioned, Fed is seeded No. 1 overall coming into the tournament and will likely have to find a way to remain focused amid increased security at this year's tournament. The 17-time Grand Slam champion has dealt with pressure throughout his storied career, but this week's drama is much more serious and goes well beyond the game of tennis.

Prediction

I like both Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray to reach the Sunday final. Hardly a bold prediction I know, but the two are without a doubt the best Shanghai has to offer this week. In the end I see Djokovic surviving a three-set thriller over Murray, who delivered the Serbian star a gut-wrenching loss in the U.S. Open final last month.
