FIFA 13: Athletes and Celebrities You Could Clash With in Online Play

Who's playing FIFA 13? It seems like the more appropriate question is who isn't playing FIFA 13? The single largest sports video game release in the world has legions of followers. Those followers extend into other sports and other walks of the entertainment industry.

You never know, you may just end competing against someone famous online.

If you've paid any attention to the social media marketing for the game, you've seen Snoop Dogg—or Snoop Lion (whichever animal you prefer) marketing the game. Here are a few tweets from the hip hop king of footbizzle (I made that up):

I'm not sure how nice Snoop is on the sticks, but he certainly has a head start on most gamers. You know he got the game early. He and other athletes and celebrities were present at the FIFA 13 release party.

New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz is an example of an athlete from another sport that partakes in the FIFA series. He tweeted this pic of him playing against Snoop. Nobody tweeted the results of the match, though.

Usain Bolt and the two "youths" are playing FIFA in this image. This reminds me, I have to create Bolt on FIFA 13 with maxed out ratings in every speed category. He isn't actually playing the game in the picture, or maybe he is, and he's just too fast for the camera to capture.

Danny Granger is another athlete that was excited to get his hands on FIFA 13.

Granger has averaged over 20 points per game three times in his NBA career. Can a brother get an early copy of the game? He had to go to a midnight launch like everyone else? That's cold EA.

Finally, if you want a presumably tough match from a famous opponent, you could try to find Tim Cahill online. The New York Red Bulls star was also at the FIFA 13 launch party.

I'm not sure you want to challenge an actual footballer that really plays the video game, though. Then again, you wouldn't have anything to lose. After all, he's the professional. 

There are surely other celebrities and athletes that play FIFA 13. Hopefully we'll see them throw their gamertags and PS IDs out there for open challenges.
