NHL Trade Rumors: Rick Nash and Stars Sure to Shine with New Team
The NHL trade winds are blowin' in the wind, my friends, and teams are wondering how many assets they'll have to give up to acquire some of the league's top stars as they make a playoff push.
But which stars might be moved? And to where? And which ones will shine?
The answers, my friends, are listed below.

Rick Nash, Columbus Blue Jackets
The latest rumor has Nash headed to the New York Rangers, at least according to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun:
"If the Rangers are going to deal for Columbus RW Rick Nash—and sources say GM New York Glen Sather is interested—it’s going to come with a big asking price. The word is the Blue Jackets may demand C Brandon Dubinsky, prospect C Chris Kreider from Boston College and a No. 1 pick. Kreider was New York’s No. 1 pick in the 2009 NHL draft. The talk in Columbus is Nash may waive his no-movement clause to get a deal done.
"
Nash would likely improve any team he was traded to, but putting him on an already stellar Rangers team would send shivers down a whole lot of spines in the Eastern Conference.
Luke Schenn, Toronto Maple Leafs
The Philadelphia Flyers need to add a defenseman, and the Maple Leafs have been said to have interest in Philadelphia forward James van Riemsdyk. The rumor that logically followed was Schenn heading to Philadelphia (and joining brother Brayden) and JVR heading to Toronto.
While it's been somewhat quiet on this rumor's front for some time, it's a deal that makes sense and would help each team, especially considering it now seems unlikely the Flyers can land Ryan Suter of the Nashville Predators.
Jeff Carter, Columbus Blue Jackets
For a team that needs a goal-scorer, Carter may be the way to go.
No, he's not the preferable choice if Rick Nash is on the block in Columbus, but given Carter's crazy contract, the fact that he would like out of Columbus and questions about his character in the past, a team may be able to get Carter at a discounted rate.
It's a risk, but for a team desperate to add scoring, it's likely a risk worth taking.
