Man United Transfer Rumors: 10 Players the Red Devils Will Try to Get in Summer
The winter transfer window is now finally coming to a close, and we have watched Manchester United make very few moves this winter.
For many people, this has come as a disappointing development due to the weaknesses displayed at midfield and in defense throughout this season.
No matter how the Premier League race goes from here, United will have problems at these spots for the remainder of the season. But those problems could be fixed during the summer transfer window.
There have already been numerous rumors and suggested transfer ideas in this window for United's future. Here are 10 players that United will try to get this summer.

One of the most followed young Dutch players in the world, Ricky van Wolfswinkel has been linked to Manchester United during this window, which would be an interesting signing for the Red Devils.
Of course United do have a wealth of strikers already, but Mame Biram Diouf has already left Old Trafford during this winter, and the future for both Dimitar Berbatov and Fedrico Macheda is up in the air.
This means van Wolfswinkel could be signed and replace these players during the summer.

The captain of Ajax and linked to many of the top clubs in Europe, Jan Vertonghen could easily become a replacement player for United's defense in the coming years.
Vertonghen is a member of Belgium's new golden generation of player that is poised to become a major player in international football over the coming years.
Vertonghen will be 25 at the end of the season, and with his strong leadership and playing ability, he would be an ideal player to join United.

One of Crystal Palace's best players, who performed great against United back in the quarterfinal of the Carling Cup, Nathaniel Clyne has already been linked to the Red Devils this winter.
He may only be in his young 20s, but Clyne is also a very talented defender who is still under the radar.
Knowing Sir Alex Ferguson's move to use younger players and how much he likes to get players who are under the radar, acquiring Clyne would make a lot of sense.

Another great player that Newcastle bought before he became a star, Cheik Tiote has been impressive at Newcastle throughout this season and will be coveted during this summer.
Tiote has not been the target of many transfer rumors this winter because Tiote is participating in the African Cup of Nations but the Cote d'Ivorie star will certainly be a target throughout the summer.
Considering how weak United's midfield is, Tiote could be a strong acquisition for the future.

Eden Hazard is one of Europe's biggest targets and it already has been announced that Hazard will not be leaving this winter to join another club.
Hazard will most likely be cheaper in the summer due to the fact that players' prices decrease during the summer.
Considering how weak United's creative force is in the midfield, Hazard would be a fantastic pickup for the Red Devils for both the short and long term.

Another young player that has been highly touted for his playing ability, Christian Eriksen has been linked to Manchester United throughout the past several years and looks like that he will not move away from Ajax at the end of the season.
Eriksen will also get a chance to play in Euro 2012, which will cause more clubs to attempt to get the Danish midfielder.
If Eriksen were to move to Old Trafford, he would immediately become a star.

Rodwell could be a strong defensive midfielder and a solidifying force for Everton. There is still a chance that Rodwell could play for England in Euro 2012, which would cause his transfer price to go up.
However, Rodwell could be a cheaper option in the window for United and could follow in Wayne Rooney's footsteps as a childhood protégé who moved from Everton to Manchester United.
A rising star in Croatia, Mateo Kovacic has the makings of a future star. He has already been called "the Croatian Messi" and the amount of talent that Kovacic has already displayed is unbelievable.
Kovacic became the second-youngest goalscorer in Champions League history during this past season when he scored against Lyon, and is certainly among the best young attacking midfielders in Europe today.
United's pursuit of Kovacic might be over for now, but there is no reason to believe that they will not at least try to sign the future star again during the summer.

One of Europe's top defenders, Neven Subotic is part of a fantastic group of young Borussia Dortmund players that have a boatload of potential.
Subotic is one of the Bundesliga's best defenders and helped Dortmund to win the league title last season.
There have already been rumors that Subotic could be a replacement to Rio Ferdinand, and United might just make those rumors come true this summer.

Throughout the last two years, Wesley Sneijder has been one of Man United's most pursued players. His ability in central midfield is spectacular and is certainly one of the top players in all of Europe.
Sneijder has already denied that he will move to United during this transfer window, but don't be surprised if Sneijder does make a move during this summer to Old Trafford to end one of the longest transfer sagas in recent memory.
