The Best and Worst Tim Tebow Parodies
Tim Tebow is one of the most polarizing sports figures in the past decade.
Naturally, it makes him an easy target for media attention and parodies by the masses. Tebow's story in the NFL and his recent success demands the attention, but sometimes it can be an overwhelming amount. Regardless, people provide their own reactions to Tebow through parodies highlighting his success or poking fun at his mannerisms and religious beliefs.
Some are tasteful and original, while others can be deemed rather offensive.
Here are the best and worst Tim Tebow parodies in recent memory.
Best: Mime-Tim Tebow on Gameday
1 of 5This skit was performed at the Gator Growl in 2007. Tim Tebow's days at UF helped perpetuate the legend of Tebow not only in Florida, but around the country.
It provides a light comedic attempt at how Tebow "really" gets ready for football on game days in college. The performer's expressions while acting like Tebow make this video much funnier. And you have to give the performer credit for the soundtrack—it fits his action and expressions perfectly.
Worst: Stephen Tulloch
2 of 5Detroit Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch's famous play this season received more attention, not because of the sack he made on Tim Tebow, but rather how he "Tebowed" Tebow.
I understand the logic behind this for Tulloch. A quarterback, who is widely characterized as not being a real quarterback, is gaining national attention because of three minutes of outstanding football and a trademark kneel down while praying. Naturally, when Tulloch sacked Tebow, he was going to celebrate by making fun of this kneel down.
Initially, the gesture itself is funny, but after the fact, it was a classless move by Tulloch. And I'll explain myself through a question: If Tebow was a muslim, would people find it humorous if Tulloch mocked him?
I'm sure Tulloch had no intention of mocking Tebow's religion, but anything borderline like that should be kept off the football field. Just make the play and move on.
Best: All He Does Is Win
3 of 5"All He Does is Win" by DJ Porters has been the most popular Tim Tebow parody in the the past few weeks.
Using a large amount of sound clips from various press conferences and clips from ESPN's First Take, he creates a song about Tebow's ability to just win football games.
It's impressive to see someone with the talent to combine so many different sound bytes and create a song out of it. Not to mention, the addition of Stephen A. Smith's facial expression in reaction to Skip Bayless is priceless.
This video is just something fun to watch and it won't take up much of your time.
Best: Tim Tebow- All I Do Is Win
4 of 5Although similar title to the previous video on the list, this video is a parody that resembles JibJab more than anything.
It takes one the most popular songs of 2011 and puts a refreshing comedic spin to it.
Plus, whenever someone can put Tim Tebow's face on the body of T-Pain, that is bound to get a lot of laughs.
Worst: SNL's Skit of Tim Tebow and the Broncos
5 of 5The recent SNL skit of Tim Tebow has become very popular since it aired on Dec. 17. However, I think it's a parody that is not as funny as SNL hoped it would be.
Much like in the Tulloch argument, would society be as apt to allowing shows like SNL make fun of Tebow's religion if he were a Muslim or Buddhist instead of a Christian?
The entire skit was sacrilegious and made light of many things Christians hold sacred in their religion. It was just tasteless, and SNL really reached for the laughs.
Although a few parts were laughable, the method in how they made fun of Tebow was also very predictable and unoriginal. One would think that with the writers at SNL, they could come up with a more original skit.
