Ward vs. Froch: Ward Will Cruise to Unanimous Decision Victory
Andre Ward has won four straight fights by unanimous decision and he will remain undefeated by registering another one against Carl Froch.
There's plenty at stake in this fight: Ward's WBA super middleweight title, Froch's WBC super middleweight title and The Ring magazine's vacant title are up for grabs.
This is the last major fight of the year, and both men are confident about their chances. However, I don't think this one will be close.
I like Froch, but he has completely overestimated his own skill level. While Ward isn't a superstar, he's still a few notches above Froch.
The 24-0 Ward has been dominating recent opponents, while Froch has barely squeaked by.
Ward demolished heavy favorite Mikkel Kessler in 2009, then cruised to easy victories over Allan Green, Sakio Bika and Arthur Abraham.
Meanwhile, Froch lost to Kessler, then struggled against Abraham and the ancient Glen Johnson. His record is still very good (28-1), but I'm not overly impressed with him.
I think this will be an ugly fight, as both men have been known to make some dirty moves. Ward often leads with his head, and Froch is more than willing to trade illegal punches.
In the end, Ward will dominate with his superior technique, particularly on the inside. He'll penetrate Froch's defense and land body shots all night long.
Froch may hit the deck a few times, but I don't envision a knockout occurring.
Ward will win by unanimous decision, staking his claim as the world's best super middleweight fighter.
