Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The good news: LeSean McCoy scored two touchdowns last week against the Miami Dolphins. The bad news: he rushed for 38 yards on 27 carries, slightly above one yard per rush.
He will need to be much better in the yards per carry category this week against the New York Jets, a team that needs to continue rolling if they plan on being in the playoffs.
McCoy is due to have a breakout yardage game seeing how he hasn’t eclipsed the century mark since Nov. 20 against the New York Giants. He has only averaged 51 yards per game in the past three outings.
He has rushed for at least one touchdown in every game but one this season. There have been five games where McCoy has scored multiple touchdowns.
What he doesn’t do rushing he will make up for it in the passing attack. He’s great in point per reception leagues, collecting 45 receptions for 310 yards and three touchdowns.
Even though he has subsided in the past few games, his production as a whole should be worthy of a start compared to rushing numbers in the past few games.
Chris Johnson
Tennessee Titans star running back Chris Johnson has had a strange 2011 season. His first 100-yard performance didn’t come until October against the Cleveland Browns. You would have thought that his performance would have inspired him for others big-time games.
That wasn’t the case.
Johnson didn’t record another 100-yard performance until Nov. 13 against the Carolina Panthers. Finally, he got it going by recording 100-yard performances in three-of-four games.
He struggled last week against the New Orleans Saints with 23 yards on the ground on 11 carries.
Tennessee is 5-0 when they hand the ball off to Johnson 20 or more times. The Titans should work their strength and that’s Johnson. It’s no surprise that Johnson has rushed for 100 yards in four of those five games.
You can’t give the ball 11 times to a player with as great of talent as Johnson possesses.
It’s unacceptable.
Tennessee will focus on the run game against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend, the 30th ranked rush defense. There is no excuse not to give the ball to Johnson 20-30 times on Sunday.
Arian Foster
Houston Texans’ running back Arian Foster hasn’t exactly been dynamic in the past four weeks. He has only recorded one 100-yard performance in those games, but he has scored four touchdowns in those games.
This will be the week when he puts it all together.
Houston has won seven games in a row. They will be looking to push that figure to eight when the Carolina Panthers pay a visit.
Foster will benefit from playing the 24th rushing defense, allowing 129 yards per contest.
Another reason why Foster will excel this weekend is how well T.J. Yates has been playing. He hit the 300 yard mark against the Cincinnati Bengals, including a game-winning touchdown drive in Week 14.
Carolina now has to respect the pass, which will make Foster even more dynamic. Expect Foster to have a huge day.
