Week 15 NFL Picks: Predicting the Worst Games of the Week

John RozumDec 14, 2011

Although every week obviously has great games, there unfortunately have to be some bad games as well. What's good though is that most of Week 15's games have, at the very least, minor playoff implications.

So, the worst games this week aren't too bad compared to some from the previous weeks. However, here are three that stand out.

Miami at Buffalo

Definitely the worst game this week and really the only one without any chance of a playoff team or a spoiler team. Miami and Buffalo fight for pride and bragging rights in this one.

Since the second half of the season began, the Dolphins have clearly been the better team. After starting 0-7, Miami is 4-2 and after starting 5-2, the Bills have dropped six straight. That said, Miami crushed Buffalo 35-8 earlier this season at home thanks to two INTs and four forced fumbles.

Expect the same this week as Buffalo QB Ryan Fitzpatrick continues his slump and the defense fails to slow down the Dolphins improved rushing attack.

The Dolphins are playing hard each week and the Bills simply are lacking playmakers as well as dealing with some significant injuries.

Tennessee at Indianapolis

Now we come to a game with playoff implications. Tennessee should be getting a freebie, however—they face the winless Colts.

This is a game especially important for the Titans though, as RB Chris Johnson needs to get back on track. After a late spark, he went back to early season mode. The Colts have the No. 30 ranked rush defense and last time allowed Tennessee to gain 96 rushing yards.

In their Week 15 matchup, Indy is looking to play spoiler and move the ball on the Titans' No. 20 ranked defense. Earlier this season, Indy outgained Tennessee 399-311 and had more first downs.

If there's one game the Colts win this season, this is that game as they've proven before that they can move the ball on Tennessee.

Colts over Titans

Cincinnati at St. Louis

Along the same lines as Titans-Colts, the Bengals-Rams game has playoff implications for Cincinnati as they're currently on the cusp of the AFC's No. 6 seed.

The Rams have potential playmakers in RB Steven Jackson, WR Brandon Lloyd and DE Chris Long, so it's not going to be a cakewalk for the Bengals. That said, no one in the St. Louis secondary can cover WRs AJ Green or Jerome Simpson and RB Cedric Benson will have a field day against their weak run defense.

St. Louis will have some decent success as long as they keep a balanced attack, but that's been a problem all season, as their WRs (other than Lloyd) can't beat single coverage. So, expect Cincy to key on Lloyd and stack the box against Jackson to force their weaker skill players to beat them.

In other words, advantage Bengals.
