Texans vs. Bengals Video: Watch T.J Yates Seal Houston's First Playoff Bid
Rookie quarterback T.J. Yates has led the Houston Texans to the promised land, as they have clinched their first ever playoff berth since becoming an NFL franchise.
That statement in itself would be extremely impressive, but when you factor in all of the adversity and doubt that the Texans had to deal with this year, it really puts everything into perspective.
It's not the fact that the Texans made the playoffs, because many had predicted them to, but it's how they did it.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This team has had their backs against the wall from the get-go, but somehow they managed to fight off the injury bug.
Star running back Arian Foster was hampered by a hamstring injury early and missed two games, yet he still managed to put up 224 carries, 916 yards and eight touchdowns coming into today's game.
Star wideout Andre Johnson had to have minor surgery on his right hamstring and has missed seven games this season, including today, and stud pass rusher Mario Williams was lost for the season in October.
It wasn't looking good for the injury-riddled Texans, but when starting quarterback Matt Schaub was lost with a foot injury all hope seemed lost. To add insult to injury and injury to insult, backup quarterback Mat Leinart broke his collarbone less than a half into his first try for the Texans.
It seemed like a bad dream, and Yates certainly didn't look to be the guy to shake the Texan's out of it.
Apparently nobody gave him that memo, though.
Yates has gone 20-40 for 258 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in his three appearances, but he played a big role in helping the Texans win seven in a row.
His six-yard touchdown here with two seconds left on the clock gave the Texans a 29-19 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, and won his team a playoff berth.
Many people predicted the Texans making the playoffs, but I don't think anybody saw T.J. Yates being the man under center when it happened.
That right there is the beauty of the NFL, my friends.
The Texans are going to the playoffs, and they have Yates to thank for it.
