Chiefs vs. Jets: 5 Key Stats from the First Half
Today, the Kansas City Chiefs take on the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.
The Chiefs are looking to finally put some points on the board and keep their hopes alive in the AFC West race.
KC has not played well thus far, but hopefully, big changes can be made at halftime.
Here are five key stats from the first half:
0-6: Third Downs for KC
The Chiefs have not been efficient on third down throughout this game. They were unable to convert a single third down attempt in the entire half, primarily because they have not been able to move the ball on early downs.

If Kansas City wants to win this game, they cannot keep leaving themselves in 3rd-and-long situations.
17: Straight Field Goals for Ryan Succop
Midway through the first quarter, the Chiefs got onto the scoreboard with an impressive 53-yard field goal by Ryan Succop. This marks the 17th straight FG made by Succop after he started the season a troubling 1-4.
The Chiefs are going to need every point they can get in the second half; hopefully, Succop has a couple more long bombs in him.
1: First Down for the Chiefs
This is a pretty troubling stat. KC needs to find a way to move the ball in the second half. The Chiefs must establish the run early in the third quarter and open up the play-call for Palko.
The Jets have already recorded 16 first downs; this 1-16 ratio will not cut it in the second half.
8:42: Time of Possession for Kansas City
The Jets have owned the time of possession battle in the first half. KC has not been able to advance the ball and sustain long drives, leaving their defense in terrible positions.
The Chiefs need to eat up more of the clock in the second half and end their drives in the end zone.
4-4: The Jets' Red-Zone Proficiency in the First Half
KC's defense has not held up in the red zone early in this game. On New York's first touchdown, Javier Arenas had a crucial third down penalty that prolonged the Jets' drive.
The Chiefs cannot afford any more mistakes near the goal line in the second half; NY's offense is too powerful to get second chances.
