Soccer Holiday: Things That Need to Be on Your Wish List

Ned HarwoodDec 11, 2011

The holiday season is back and if you are like me, you have been developing a gift wish list for several months now. December is always the prime time to fulfill all your footballing needs and start becoming the fan/player you have always wanted to be. Many of you may already know what you want for the holidays this year, but for those of you who are struggling to find good ideas, I give you this list. Enjoy!

Adidas Cleats

1 of 8

F50 Adizero TRX FG

If you can stand the intense colors coming off this boot, then Messi’s new cleat is definitely worth your money. At just six ounces, the new Adizero provides you with barefoot-like agility while still supplying enough power to hit it upper 90. While it may not be the cheapest of boots out there, it is the most effective one from Adidas.

Price: $230.99

Nike Cleats

The title is a lot to handle, but the best selling Nike cleats are the ones everyone is talking about. Synthetic microfibers allow the boot to adjust to your foot size, providing a comfortable experience on the field. It is also one of the lightest cleats in the world and the CR7 inspired design obviously speaks for itself. This shoe makes a statement, and so can you.

Price: $199.99

CTR360 Maestri Elite SG: $179.99

Jerseys

If you have a favorite team in next year’s tournament, of course I advise you to pick up their respective jersey this holiday season. However, if you will be watching from a neutral perspective like me, here is a list of some jerseys (with names) that won’t seem too generic or peculiar.

Suggestions

Gotze, Schurrle, Reus Home, Germany

Wilshere, Welbeck Home, England

Martin Away, France

McGeady Home, Ireland

Eriksen Denmark, Home

Soccer Balls

4 of 8

If you want to get ahead of the game and fool around with a ball that not even the pros have played with yet, the Adidas UEFA Euro 2012 “Tango 12” match ball should be atop your holiday list. The Tango 12 was developed over a two year period and went through countless trials with players to make sure it was just right for the world’s second biggest soccer tournament. Being the most tested ball in Adidas history, you will undoubtedly find little to no flaws in the new Tango 12.

Price: $149.99/29.99

Note: The price of the official match ball is the first number next to the link, while the second number is the replica price.

Soccer Fatheads

Lionel Messi: Messi’s New Fathead gives life to any boring wall. If you are looking to spice up the room, you are going to want this poster on your wall. $99.99

Videogames

6 of 8

FIFA Street: Yes, FIFA Street is back and better than ever. While it will still feature plenty of ridiculous moves and acrobatics for your liking, the game is based off the FIFA 12 engine, meaning a much more fluid and realistic experience is expected. The massive increase of licensed teams, players, and game modes make this FIFA street the most dynamic game of the series.

Note: The game is not released yet. The expected release date is sometime next spring.

FIFA 12: If you don't have the award winning game by now, I advise you to stop reading this and go to your local Gamestop immediately. FIFA 12 redefined all soccer simulations for the better.

Football Manager 12 (iPhone): Released just three days ago, FM12 on the iPhone has received nothing but excellent reviews and brings the whole managing experience you loved on the PC to your pocket. At just $9.99, the game is an absolute steal for football lovers.

Your Ideas

8 of 8

That is my ultimate wish list for this holiday season!

However, I am sure there are plenty of gifts out there for you that I didn't list and so I suggest you do some of your own research to make this December a very special soccer holiday. Also, you can list some of your ideas in the comments and I could decide to put them in the article for the whole community to see.

Thanks for reading and Happy Holidays!
