BCS Bowl Games: Disappointing Matchups Mean Broken BCS System Must Go

The five BCS matchups are pretty much awful this season and it further proves that the system is flawed and needs to be overhauled or scrapped completely.

We seriously have some terrible matchups, so let’s break them down real quick to prove it.

LSU vs. Alabama for the national championship, which no one besides the morons who get votes in the polls and SEC fanatics want to see.

Virginia Tech vs. Michigan for the Sugar Bowl, a ridiculous 11 vs. 13 matchup of overrated teams that just got selected because of their “history” and “tradition” and the fact that their fans will shell out money.

West Virginia vs. Clemson for the Orange Bowl, two teams that prove automatic qualifiers need to be heavily reevaluated and in the Big East’s case, revoked.

The other two games, Stanford vs. Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl and Wisconsin vs. Oregon for the Rose Bowl aren’t horrible, but the participants in Fiesta certainly feel they got robbed of a chance to play for the national title.

This is why a playoff system needs to be implemented.

It simply isn’t fair that so many good teams have been denied a shot at the title when there clearly isn’t a clear-cut No. 2 team in the nation behind LSU.

Teams that actually have a solid case like Boise State are being relegated to Las Vegas Bowls against 6-6 teams without a head coach.

This can no longer happen and it’s a farce that it’s been going on for so long.

All the teams that got screwed this year by the BCS system and have been screwed in years past must take a stand.

Enough is enough, the BCS must go. For the betterment of college football, there must be change.
