Certain stipulations of his release include electronic monitoring of his location and the inability to contact any of the alleged victims, according to Pennlive.

Initial Update:

Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State Nittany Lions football coach who has spent the past month embroiled in a sex abuse scandal, was taken away from his home in handcuffs this afternoon, according to NBC News.

The news could to be linked to additional charges being brought against Sandusky, based on a report from Sara Ganim. He was due for his preliminary appearance in Centre County Court on Dec. 13.

Bond has been set at $250,000 cash by Judge Dan Hoffman, according to Ron Musselman. Prosecutors had asked for it to be $1 million, which was argued to be excessive by Sandusky's attorney Joe Amendola.

Based on the testimonies of two new victims, the Grand Jury just released a report detailing the events of the latest alleged victims' encounters with Sandusky.

Both accounts sync up with those of previous reported victims. Common details include spending time in a basement bedroom at Sandusky's home, be taken to Penn State football games, receiving gifts and involuntary sexual acts.

Pennslyvania Attorney General Linda Kelly just released the following statement about the additional charges brought about by victims following the initial report (via WPXI):

"

“Today’s criminal charges were recommended by a statewide investigating grand jury, based on evidence and testimony that was received following the initial arrest of Sandusky on November 5th,” said Attorney General Linda Kelly. “At that time, Sandusky was charged with sexually assaulting eight victims, all of whom first encountered Sandusky as children through The Second Mile, a organization that he founded to operate programs for disadvantaged young people.”

"

It's a scandal that continues to rock Penn State and has already caused the dismissal of several high-ranking officials within the college including head football coach Joe Paterno and President Graham Spanier. The internal investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Sandusky was originally charged after a Grand Jury report stated he had inappropriate relationships with several young boys, including those he had met through a charity he founded called The Second Mile.

Since the news first broke, he has done interviews with The New York Times and NBC's Bob Costas and has continued to maintain his innocence. He insists that any physical contact with children under his supervision was not of a sexual manner.

It was reported on Monday by ABC News that all of his original accusers will testify against him.

Sandusky is also dealing with a lawsuit that was also brought by an unidentified party, who also accuses the former coach of at least 100 instances of abuse.

More information as it becomes available.

UPDATE: Sandusky taken to jail

The Associated Press reports Sandusky was unable to post the $250,000 bail and was therefore taken to jail. He continues to maintain his innocence despite the new allegations recently brought forth.
