2011 Bowl Matchups: TCU and Boise State Not Given Chance to Prove Themselves
The Boise State Broncos and TCU Horned Frogs got the short end of the stick when the bowl game selections were announced.
Boise State, who finished the season ranked No. 7 in the BCS standings, drew an unranked 6-6 Arizona State team in the Las Vegas Bowl. The Sun Devils lost the past four games and recently fired coach Dennis Erickson.
TCU won the Mountain West and had a 10-2 record on the season but somehow only finished No. 18 in the BCS standings. They match up against the 8-4 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs of the WAC in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.

These are both disgusting opponents for teams who deserve so much more.
Boise arguably should have been in a BCS bowl because of their ranking, but instead No. 13 Michigan and No. 11 Virginia Tech got the nod ahead of them.
TCU would have made an intriguing automatic qualifier if the voters didn’t screw them out of a Top 16 ranking.
Chris Petersen, the coach of the Broncos, finally has had enough of his team being beaten by the corrupt BCS system and being relegated to play one of the worst bowl teams in a game no one will care about.

I don't think any one is happy, anywhere. They say it's the one and two best teams, there's even controversy on that. The whole thing needs to be changed there's no question about it."

Gary Patterson, the Horned Frogs head coach, is also bewildered and angry that Petersen and other coaches disrespected his team in the final poll.
""I'm more disturbed by Petersen voting us 18th when we beat him at home," Patterson said. "And defensively we didn't even play that well. You're not supposed to show bias."

The BCS is all about bias and it’s a reason why these two mid-major programs are relegated to pointless bowls instead of getting to show their skills on the biggest stages this season.
