LeGarrette Blount: Bucs Fan Claims Blount Was Ring Leader in September Beating
According to a police report discussed in The St. Petersburg Times, 34-year-old man Gary Holmer claims Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount was the ring leader of an attack against him on Sept. 11.
The report says that Holmer inadvertently hit the mirror of a 2005 Ford Expedition SUV while pulling into his apartment complex. The man, who had his girlfriend in the car with him, was then cut off by the vehicle that he hit.
According to the report, three men exited the vehicle and two of them proceeded to assault the driver and destroy his car, including one of the men smashing the windshield. A third man was reportedly barking out orders, and that man was allegedly Blount, whose Buccaneers had lost their season-opening game to the Detroit Lions just a couple hours earlier.

Blount apparently didn't engage in any violence, but he did direct the other men, according to the police report. Blount has yet to make an official statement on the ongoing case, and he has yet to be punished in any way by the NFL or the Buccaneers' organization.
While a guilty verdict hasn't always been needed for commissioner Roger Goodell to hand down fines or suspensions, Blount likely won't be punished until a definitive decision comes down with regards to his involvement. This is because Blount doesn't seem to have a history of offenses.
Blount is notorious for on-field violence, however, such as his postgame punching of a Boise State player when he was a member of the Oregon Ducks in 2009. Blount is likely to play in Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars unless there is some unforeseen break in the case.
