David Beckham: 10 Bold Predictions on What LA Galaxy Star Will Do Next

Mikhail TurnerDec 7, 2011

David Beckham's future is source of constant speculation at the moment.

Since the storybook finish to his career with the Los Angeles Galaxy, there have been a variety of rumors concerning what Beckham will do with his future.

Common thought processes would dictate that Beckham's future lies in the football world in some way, but as much as he is likely to keep playing, he could also retire.

The Beckham's have built a pretty cozy life in LA since their move and it would be hard to see the family moving again, but it could happen. Some of these bold predictions should definitely be taken lightly, but there is always the possibility that they could be in the mix as well.

In the end, what Beckham does will be his decision and everyone will wait to see what it is.

Here are 10 bold predictions on what the LA Galaxy star will do next.

Stay with the LA Galaxy

1 of 10

This option is pretty easy. David Beckham will know what he is getting on the pitch, he would be on a team with a possibility of repeating and his family is already set up in Hollywood.

While this move is less likely from a playing standpoint, the family issues may sway a decision in the Galaxy's favor. Galaxy reportedly offered Beckham a contract extension amidst all the attention he received after the MLS cup victory.

A decision may not be imminent but the Galaxy, and others, will wait with bated breath to hear what Beckham decides.

Play for PSG

2 of 10

PSG has been strongly linked with Beckham in recent weeks, with sporting director Leonardo claiming that talks are ongoing.

With Beckham having ruled himself out of playing in England, PSG look like the front-runners in the race to sign him. PSG has the money, talent and ambition to keep a player like Beckham happy.

Were he to move in January, he could be involved in both European and league play and would increase his chances of appearing for the Great Britain team in the 2012 Olympics.

Appear in the 2012 Olympics

3 of 10

For a while now, there have been reports that Beckham wants to play for the Great Britain team in the 2012 Olympics.

Beckham could definitely fit one of the over-age slots that manager Stuart Pearce would have available but his inclusion could be dependent on him playing football until the summer.

Whether he goes to France or stays in the United States, Beckham may yet get his chance to be considered for the team. It is not a foregone conclusion at the moment, but it is highly possible.

Play in Euro 2012

4 of 10

Why not? If Beckham can play in the Olympics against players that are mainly under the age of 23, or even play with PSG against tough European and French opposition, why can't he play for the England team in Euro 2012?

Rooney will be out for the first three games and England could always use another midfielder over the age of 30. Beckham will probably never speak about this desire to the public, but he would certainly be happy to don the English shirt one more time.

Retire

5 of 10

If the playing options he has at the moment are not suitable enough for Beckham and his family, retiring could be on the list.

Beckham would have retired on the top of his current league and with a very, very successful career both on and off the field.

The MLS title makes it his third in three different leagues and that is an accomplishment not a lot of players have. Retiring would not mean the end of his time in football and the following slides provide some other options for the English icon.

Take on a Role in Hollywood

6 of 10

If you don't know who that is, this is Vinnie Jones another English footballer famous for a lot of reasons, though none are really in the same spectrum as David Beckham's.

Jones had a pretty lengthy and decent career and when he was finished he turned that into an acting career. Jones has appeared in movies such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and performed the role of the Juggernaut in X-Men: The Last Stand. Those are just two of his many films.

I can't say that Hollywood has rubbed of on Beckham to such an extent, but whenever he decided to retire, acting could become a possibility for him. I mean, He has appeared in the Goal! series, but it's not like he needs the money or anything.

It would be interesting to see what types of roles he gets cast in if this were to happen.

Take on a Advisory Role with the England Squad or a Role with the FA

7 of 10

When he showed up on the sidelines for the England team looking spiffy as usual, there was speculation that it may be the beginning of a future in the coaching part of the football world for Beckham. He recently put the idea of him in management to an end, though.

That still doesn't mean that he wouldn't want to help out with his nation's squad if asked. He wouldn't necessarily have to be on the sidelines as he was during the World Cup.

Maybe another few years of playing the game may change his mind to the whole idea of being a manager or maybe not. I guess we will find out at some point.

Take a Front Office Role with the Galaxy

8 of 10

Okay this is not necessarily the near future, but it is the future. Nobody really knows what Beckham has in mind for himself. He is more than just a football player after all.

Other famous players have gone on to take more administrative duties with their former clubs and Beckham could join that list.

After his time on the playing field in LA, he could be even more interested in continuing a future with the club even if it is not on the pitch. While it is more than likely that he will play for a little while before such an occurrence, it could still happen.

Beckham was part of the team vying for the London 2012 Olympic bid and the England World Cup 2018 bid. While Beckham the brand was the major reason he was a part of those efforts, he surely had to deal with administrative duties and provide his own ideas as well.

Start His Own MLS Team

9 of 10

To be honest, Beckham and his family are most likely to stay in Los Angeles if they remain in the United States, so this may be a tougher prospect than normal.

However, Beckham could feel the need to have an even greater influence on football in the US and what better way than to bring your own team, with your own ideas into the mix.

If he were to ever to reach the conclusion that a position of that sort is a possibility and either had conflicts or didn't want to share his ideas with the LA Galaxy, he could provide his own platform for doing so.

According to the last two paragraphs of this article by the Telegraph, it is not inconceivable that this prediction could happen.

Take a Front Office Role with Manchester United

10 of 10

A future with the Red Devils had to be included somewhere and here it is. As with most of the administrative or non-playing predictions on this list, this venture may come a little bit later on in life for Beckham but I don't think it's too bold to say it could happen.

Just as with the Galaxy, Beckham may want to be involved in the future of one of his former clubs. What better place to do it than the club that started it all?

As far as I see it, other than the playing options listed, this kind off just seems right.
