BCS Rankings: Oklahoma Sooners and Teams That Deserved Better
Now that the final BCS rankings have been released and bowl games have been announced, teams can air their grievances about the system. While not every claim that will be made is a legitimate one, here are three teams that should have been ranked higher in the final standings.
Kansas State Wildcats
Kansas State's only losses came against Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. An argument could be made the Wildcats needed to win either of those games to sway more voters their way, but they did beat two ranked teams and otherwise ran the table in a solid Big 12.
What may have caused the human element of the rankings to disrespect Kansas State was its lack of a dominant unit. Neither its offense or defense ranked inside the top 30 nationally. If the Wildcats could have inched closer to the the top five, it would have been a huge boost to their BCS hopes.

Oklahoma Sooners
Something Oklahoma doesn't get enough credit for is beating several teams while it was at its peak. The Sooners knocked off Florida State (No. 5), Kansas State (No. 8) and Texas (No. 11) during the course of the season.
Even though the Sooners' loss to Texas Tech means they shouldn't be ranked inside the Top 10, losses on the road against Oklahoma State and Baylor shouldn't be looked down upon. The computers continued to love Oklahoma despite its finale loss, but voters didn't share the same enthusiasm.
Deserved Final Rank: No. 11
Michigan State Spartans
Michigan State picked up several marquee wins. That includes a triumph over Wisconsin before the Badgers got revenge in the Big Ten Championship Game. However, somehow the Spartans never got the credit they truly deserved for a terrific season.
Their only loss to an unranked team came in South Bend against Notre Dame, which is always a tough task, and should have been quickly offset by a win at Ohio State. For whatever reason, the computers never bought into Michigan State, giving it reason to ask why.
