2011 Bowl Games: Baylor and More Teams That Will Win Shootouts

Tim KeeneyDec 5, 2011

Here's a look at three teams that will come out on top of epic shootouts during bowl season.

Baylor Bears

Baylor has the Alamo Bowl against the Washington Huskies. No one has been able to slow down Robert Griffin III and the Bears offense this season, and it's unlikely the Dawgs will be the first.

The Huskies pass defense is pretty atrocious and RG III should take advantage all night.

Still though, Baylor's defense isn't all that great either and Washington has impressive weapons with Keith Price, Chris Polk and Kasen Williams.

The total points in this one could hit 100.

Washington will put up a ton of points, but not enough to keep up with Baylor.

Oregon Ducks

The Ducks have one of the best running offenses in the country while Wisconsin, their Rose Bowl opponent, has one of the best all-around offenses in the nation.

There will be three legitimate Heisman candidates in this one with LaMichael James, Russell Wilson and Montee Ball.

I'm going with Oregon simply on a gut feeling, but don't be surprised if the final score is 41-38 (either way).

Kansas State Wildcats

It's a little risky to pick a team going up against an SEC powerhouse, but Kansas State can really move the ball.

Collin Klein is a gifted individual at quarterback, and I'm confident he can move the ball. Yes, even against Arkansas.

On the other side of the ball, the Razorbacks have one of the best offenses in the SEC. Kansas State had one of the best Big 12 defenses, but they are certainly susceptible at times.

This may turn into a shootout, but it could very easily come down to who makes a defensive stop in the end.

These are two good defensive teams, don't get me wrong, but they both have weapons on the offensive end as well.
