2011 BCS Bowl Projections: Which Players Will Have Greatest NFL Impact?
The following players are going to shine in BCS bowl games, and then go onto to Pro Bowl careers in the NFL.
These three players have been at the heart of their team's success and they have the kind of game that will translate flawlessly into the NFL.
Stanford QB Andrew Luck
Luck is the QB for Stanford. Have you ever heard of him? Oh, you have. Well then, you probably know he is projected to be the next great QB in the NFL.
Luck has all the tools you look for in a QB. He is as big a lock to be the No. 1 overall pick as the draft has ever seen.
Luck has a picture-perfect release, good arm strength, amazing accuracy, good decision-making and decent speed if decides to tuck it and run.
Wherever Luck ends up, he is going to watch a team be constructed around him. He will likely start from game one of his NFL career and not look back until he retires.
*Note: Stanford is a borderline BCS bowl game selection.
Alabama RB Trent Richardson
Richardson is a bowling ball-type back that can do everything. He can run, block and catch. He rarely loses yards, and continually gets positive yards after contact.
He is durable, smart and has a good attitude. In short, he is everything a team looks for in a back.
He is 5'11" and 225 pounds. He reportedly runs around a 4.5 40, but he has the kind of start and stop quickness that makes up for his lack of top-end speed.
Richardson is a junior. If he decides to leave early, he will almost certainly be the first RB taken in the draft. He has the kind of running style and body type to succeed in the NFL for years to come.
LSU CB Morris Claiborne
Claiborne played alongside, and was overshadowed by, Cardinals rookie Patrick Peterson in 2010. Claiborne has emerged from Peterson's shadow in a big way this season.
He is not quite the physical freak that Peterson is, but he is close, and his cover skills are just as good.
Claiborne is 6' and 185 pounds. He reportedly runs a sub 4.4 40.
Claiborne has a nose for the ball. He has nine interceptions in his last two seasons. He also has a knack for coming up big in big moments.
The star corner picked off a pass in LSU's 9-6 victory over Alabama this season.
Claiborne also brings solid return skills with him. He is a junior, but if he decides to come out, he will likely be the first CB taken in the draft.
